Smart cameras for more than just video recording
The common camera as we know it has undergone tremendous developments since it's initial conceptualization. IP cameras are proving to be increasingly more beneficial to homes and industries as their features and capablilities continuously improve. With the introduction of The Cloud, data or video loss on site as a result of theft, fire or any other unforeseen cirumstances are a thing of the past. IP cameras work over your network to safely and securely store it's data either on an on/off-site server or within The Cloud.
Being network capable, IP cameras come with the added advantage of being accessible over the internet. This means you would not have to be in your office/home, let alone the same country to have insight into exactly what's going on at your premises. This has brought about the added benefit a new age way of managing businesses remotely.
Cameras are also becoming smarter in the fact that they not only allow for high quality video capture, but also offer alarms and triggers to detect movement and issue out updates via SMS or email. They are also being enabled by intuitive software to offer facial recognition, optical character recognition (for reading number plates etc.) and for some cameras, even being able to rotate and move with zoom ranges of up to two kilometers.
